For a move to Thailand, used household goods can be imported duty-free if you can prove a Non-Immigrant visa plus work permit or retirement status (Retirement Visa) and the shipment arrives at the port of Laem Chabang or in Bangkok within six months of your entry. A detailed valued packing list, passport with a valid visa and an original bill of lading are mandatory; new items, alcohol and vehicle imports are subject to high duties and strict conditions. The cost of a move to Thailand depends mainly on volume (LCL groupage or your own 20/40 ft container) and customs clearance, which our team manages on site through the UTS/IAM partner network.
